 NLLAP 46 took on Friday, 26th September, 2014 at the Erata Hotel in Accra on the theme, “Scaling up CLTS in Ghana: opportunities and challenges”. The platform hosted Environmental Health and Sanitation Directorate (EHSD) under the Sanitation Knowledge Management Initiative (SKMI - partners -EHSD, UNICEF, IRC, TREND, KNUST, and RCN) and supported by UNICEF and Canada. They shared and discussed the community-led total sanitation (CLTS) scale-up in Ghana progress briefing, some success stories, opportunities and challenges with the implementation. The Government (EHSD) also shared the current cholera updates and obtained stakeholder inputs for accelerated coverage. Participating stakeholders had the opportunity to appreciate the progress made and to contribute to defining the way forward for accelerated CLTS coverage. Participants included the WASH sector leadership, Naa Demedeme, Ag. Director, EHSD-MLGRD (chair); Mr. Fred Addae, Director Water, WD-MWRWH; Mr. David Duncan, DP Lead-Unicef; and Dr. Afia Zakiya, DP Co-Lead –Water Aid Ghana). For more information is available here
