General Electric to provide technology in $400m Ghana water rehabilitation works

US firm, General Electric (GE) is to provide technology and equipment for a $400 million water project in Ghana.

The deal was signed between the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) and the US government, contractor of the project, Environmental Chemical Corporation (ECC) last week.

The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) announced on Tuesday that there would be no change in electricity and water tariffs for the third quarter, which spans the period September to November.

A statement signed by Dr Emmanuel Andah, Acting Chairman PURC, said the decision followed a review for electricity and water tariffs for the third quarter under the automatic adjustment formula.
